Who We Are

At Childress First Assembly of God, we believe the local church is God’s chosen way to share the hope of Jesus with the world. Our vision is simple: to worship God wholeheartedly, grow together in faith, and serve our community with compassion. We see the church as more than a building — it’s a family where people of all ages can encounter God, be discipled in His Word, and live out the gospel in everyday life. Rooted in the heart of rural America for more than a century, we are committed to carrying that legacy forward with fresh passion for the people of Childress and beyond.

Meet Our Pastors

Pastor Justin and his wife, Kari, have served in Childress since 2023. Married since 2006, they have three children — Sophia, Malcolm, and Simon — who are actively part of ministry life. Justin is a graduate of Nelson University, ordained with the Assemblies of God since 2017, and a proud Air Force veteran who served overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond. His heart is for rural communities, believing deeply that God’s love is just as powerful in small towns as in big cities. Together, Justin and Kari have ministered as children’s pastors, youth pastors, associate pastors, U.S. missionaries, and lead pastors. Here at Childress First Assembly, Justin serves as lead pastor while Kari leads the children’s ministry and worship. Their vision is clear: to see lives transformed by the gospel and to equip the church to be a light in this community.
